It’s not too late to catch Derby Dinner Playhouse’s “A Fairy Tale Christmas.”

As part of their Children’s Musical Theatre Series, the playhouse opened this play Nov. 18. However, public performances will run Dec. 2, 9, 16, 18, 22 and 23.

Everything is wonderful in the land of Happily Ever After.

Cinderella and Snow White are leading all the fairy tale characters in their preparations for the great Crystal Christmas Ball. The problems start when a new resident arrives to the kingdom and doesn’t follow the rules, and someone very important is left off the guest list for the big party. All of the fairy tale characters have to figure out how to work together in time to save the Crystal Christmas Ball and, in the process, learn how to make new friends.

The book and lyrics for “A Fairy Tale Christmas” were written by Matt and Tina Jo Wallace especially for the Derby Dinner audience. The music was composed by Derby Dinner Musical Director Scott Bradley.

Musical numbers feature “Happily Ever After,” “Good Things Come in Threes,” “The Magic of Love,” and more. This musical was directed by Tina Jo Wallace, and the cast includes Embry Thiel-meier, Jennifer Barnaba, Avery Draper Davis, Bill Hanna, Lem Jackson, Zachary Burrell and Michael Hommrich.

All public performances offer breakfast at 9 a.m. and lunch at noon. An evening performance Dec. 18 is also available. All performances feature a kid friendly menu. This production is most suitable for children ages 3-12. Santa is rumored to be at every public performance and to visit every table.
