Duke Brigade Soldiers returning tomorrow
Another flight of 3rd Combat Brigade, 1st Infantry Division Soldiers will be returning from Afghanistan today and will be welcomed at Natcher Physical Fitness Center. Check the Fort Knox web page to confirm the ceremony time, which is tentatively planned for 6 p.m.

Department of Defense
The Army Chief of Staff has announced the following assignments pertinent to Fort Knox:
Maj. Gen. Jeff Smith, commanding general, U.S. Army Cadet Command and Fort Knox, to deputy chief of staff, International Security Assistance Force, Afghanistan. He will be replaced by Brig. Gen. Peggy Combs, the commandant of the U.S. Army Chemical, Biological, Radiological and Nuclear School, United States Army Maneuver Support Center of Excellence,
at Fort Leonard Wood, Mo. In addition, Brig. Gen. Maria Gervais, deputy commander of
U.S. Army Cadet Command and Fort Knox, will assume Combs’ role at Fort Leonard Wood.
