Salt available in
Fort Knox building occupants are reminded that they are responsible to clean sidewalks and stairs around and their buildings. Salt should be procured and kept in a bucket at the doors to the building so all occupants can take the responsibility to spread the salt on the sidewalks and steps. By taking these measures workers and visitors will have a safe and clear pathway to enter your building.
Information available on Internet for weather delay
During the winter season, the likelihood of severe weather conditions increases and with that so too does the possibility of changes to the installation’s operating status. During a weather emergency, the garrison commander may direct the following: a delay in reporting for work/duty/schools, early release from work/duty/schools, or closure of the post/schools. Installation delays and closures will be announced through (502) 624-KNOX (5669), channel 98 on post, the Fort Knox Internet at www.knox.army.mil, the Fort Knox Intranet, e-mail via the “Knox Ops Center Msg” and/or “KNOXINFO,” and through area media.
