Black History Month Observance today
The public is invited to attend the Fort Knox Black History Month Observance at 11:30 a.m. today in the Saber & Quill Signature Room. The event will be hosted by Maj. Gen. Allen Batschelet of U.S. Army Recruiting Command. The keynote speaker will be John Johnson, executive director, Kentucky Human Rights Commission. A food sampling will follow the event.
Symphony presents concert Saturday at Waybur Theater
The University of Kentucky Symphony Orchestra will present “Pictures at an Exhibition,” music by Modeste Mussorgsky, Saturday at 7:30 p.m. at Waybur Theater. The event is free and limited to the first 650 people. The theater doors open at 7 p.m. For more information, call (502) 624-4655.
Weapons training offered Saturday
On Saturday, from 9 a.m. until 5 p.m., the French Shooting Range will hold a Kentucky Carry Concealed Deadly Weapons Training Course that has been approved by the Department of Criminal Justice. Participants need to bring a weapon and 50 rounds of factory ammo. Firearms brought onto Fort Knox must meet the registration policy. The cost is $65.
