Water Park open only weekends

Beginning Saturday, the Fort Knox Water Park will be open weekends only until Sept. 1.

The hours of operation will be Saturdays from 11 a.m. until 7 p.m. and Sundays from 11 a.m. until 6 p.m. The Water Park is open to the public. The cost is $4 for military and $5 for civilians. For more information, call (502) 624-1908.

NFL preseason on Landing Zone TVs

Catch all four weeks of the 2014 NFL Preseason at the Landing Zone.

Viewers can watch their favorite teams on the big screen or on one of the 17 flat screen TVs.

Free movie for youth Sunday

The Child, Youth and School Services free family movie will be Sunday at Waybur Theater. The feature movie is “How to Train Your Dragon 2,” rated PG. The theater doors open at 1 p.m. and the movie begins at 2 p.m. The movie is free. Concessions are available for purchase. Cash payments facilitate quicker service. Seating is limited on a first-come, first-served basis. Attendees do not have to be registered with CYSS to attend. Parents must accompany children under the age of 10. Suicide breakfast at S&Q Aug. 28

Army Substance Abuse Program

The Suicide Prevention Month kickoff breakfast will be Aug. 28 from 8 to 9:30 a.m. at the Saber & Quill. Tickets are $10 and may be obtained from Shirley Johnson (502) 624-7374 or Kevin Corbin (502) 624-7031.

The guest speaker will be Jan Ulrich, the Kentucky State Suicide Prevention Coordinator. She is a master trainer, and part of a national collaboration to implement safer suicide care.
