Country music stars performing Saturday

Country music stars Darius Rucker and Jennifer Nettles will headline the 2014 Fort Knox Summer Concert at Fort Knox’s Godman Army Airfield Saturday beginning at 6:30 p.m.
Patrons will be able to park at the venue beginning at 4 p.m. and gates to the concert area open at 5:30 p.m. Parking will be free.
The concert is open to the gener-al public. Concert goers should enter the installation through the Wilson and Chaffee gates. Seating will be festival style. Food and beverages will be available for purchase.
Army Bowl Sept. 5 at Fort Knox
The Fort Campbell Falcons will take on the Fort Knox Eagles at Fort Knox High School’s McAdams Field at 8 p.m. Sept. 5. Tickets are $2 for students, $3 for military ID card holders, and $5 for nonmilitary ID card holders.
Hospital clinics observe training holiday
Clinical services at the hospital will be reduced Friday. Military Readiness Clinic, Pediatric Clinic and the Family Care Clinic will still provide primary care to those individuals enrolled. Other clinics will have minimal staffing. The Emergency Department will remain open and the lab will be open, but minimally staffed. Both pharmacies will be open from 8 a.m.-4:30 p.m. The pharmacy’s weekend operations will not be affected but both pharmacies will be closed for the federal holiday.
GS deadline Friday
Due to the holiday weekend, the deadline for submissions for the Sept. 4 edition of The Gold Standard is Friday at noon.
Suicide prevention event at S&Q today

The Suicide Prevention Month kickoff breakfast is today from 8 to 9:30 a.m. at the Saber & Quill. Tickets are $10 and may be obtained from Shirley Johnson (502) 624-7374 or Kevin Corbin (502) 624-7031.
The guest speaker will be Jan Ulrich, the Kentucky State Suicide Prevention Coordinator.
