Curious George: The Golden Meatball opens at Derby Dinner Playhouse

Curious George: The Golden Meatball opened at Derby Dinner Playhouse in Clarksville, Indiana, Feb. 24 as part of their Children’s Musical Theatre Series and will run through March 31.

Everyone’s favorite mischievous monkey, and his friend in the yellow hat, sing and dance up a storm in this adventure-filled musical.

Determined to help his friend Chef Pisghetti, George goes on a mission to enter the chef’s meatballs into the world-famous Golden Meatball Contest in Rome. With every swing and flip, George takes the audience through a fun-filled adventure in which he learns more about Rome — and meatballs — and the secret ingredient to cooking.

All public performances run on Saturdays with breakfast at 9 a.m. and lunch at noon. A special Monday evening performance has been added March 19 at 5:45 p.m. Performances feature a kid-friendly food menu. This production is most suitable for ages 3 to 12.

Curious George: The Golden Meatball is based on the best-selling books by Margret and H.S. Rey with music by John Kavanaugh and book and lyrics by Jeremy Desmon.

Derby Dinner’s production is under the direction of Tina Jo Wallace and the cast includes Austin Ramirez as George, Lem Jackson as the Man in the Yellow Hat, Bill Hanna, Katelyn Webb, Alfred Jones, and Megan Massie.

Remaining public performances run Saturday, March 10, 17, 19, 24 and 31. For ticket information, call (812) 288-8281 or visit derbydinner.com.
