NHHS hosting youth relay championship

North Hardin High School is hosting the 2017 North Hardin Youth Relay Champion-ship 6 p.m. Wednesday which is the awards meet.

The meet is open to any student enrolled in Hardin County Schools in grades kindergarten-fifth grade. Fort Knox students are also invited to attend the meet.

Track and field events include a 50-meter run for preschool students. There is no cost for preschool students and all kids receive a ribbon. There will be 50-meter, 100-meter, 200-meter and 400-meter runs for kindergarten and first-graders; 100-meter, 200-meter, 400-meter and 800-meter runs for second-fifth grade. Each student may only participate in three events per night, all students must participate with their grade level. Cost is $5 per meet. Fee must be paid at the gate upon entry. Cost for spectators is $1. The fee goes toward the cost of awards Wednesday.

FKYS tackle football registration

Fort Knox Youth Sports has its tackle football registration through Aug. 4 from 8 a.m.-4 p.m. at Central Registration office Bldg. 1384 Vine Street. The tackle football fee is $65. Combined Federal Campaign contributions pay up to $20 reducing fee to $45. Tackle football ages 9-10 born Aug. 1, 2006 through July 31, 2008 and Tackle football ages 11-13 born Aug. 1, 2003 through July 31, 2006. Thirteen years old can play football as long as they don’t turn 14 years old during the season. Tackle football conditioning begins July 5.

A youth sports scholarship available for Families who qualify for financial assistance. Participants receive a 15 percent multiple child discount for each additional youth participating in the same sport. At time of registration, youth must have a current sports specific physical on file.

Let’s Move! Family fun fitness

The Fort Knox Youth Sports will be hosting its Fitness Program from June 6-July 20. Camp will be from 6-8 p.m. at the Caruso Youth Sports Complex. The camp is free and sign ups will be held through June 6. Families are encouraged to participate, but must remain on site at all times. All players must be Family members of active duty, retired military or family members of civilian workforce including contractors on Fort Knox. At time of registration, youth must have a current sports specific physical on file.

Basketball camp

The Fort Knox Youth Sports will be hosting its basketball camp July 5-8 from 6-8 p.m. at the Sadowski Center for ages 5-18. Cost is $40. Sign ups will be held through June 15. Soccer referees needed

Fort Knox Youth Sports and the Fort Knox Officials Association are in need of soccer referees for its upcoming season. To become a certified referee, individuals must be at least 12 years old. If interested, register online at www.kyreferee.gameofficials.net. The cost is $65.

Coaches wanted

Fort Knox Youth Sports is seeking for coaches for its upcoming baseball, softball and soccer seasons. All head and assistants coaches must attend a National Youth Sports Coaches Association clinic. They must also complete a background, attend a child abuse and special needs class in order to coach. If an individual is selected to be a head coach, all children participating in the team sports program this season are free. Cost for assistant coaches’ first child is free and additional children receive a 15-percent discount.

The Fort Knox Youth Sports will be hosting its archery camp 1 June 5-9. Camp will be from 4-5 p.m. Cost will be $50. Sign ups will be held through June 5 for ages 10 and up. Classes will be at Sadowski Center.
