On Monday the Fort Knox High School girls’ basketball team dropped a game to Frederick Fraize High School 38-44.
The Lady Eagles (1-24) were led by sophomore guard Alexandria with 20 points, 11 rebound and five steals, while sophomore forward Zniah Stokes had 11 points and four rebounds.
Trailing 23-6 at the half, Fort Knox outscored the Lady Aces, 21-9 in the third quarter. But the Lady Eagles couldn’t sustain the momentum in the fourth.
The Lady Eagles’ next game is home today against Kentucky Country Day High School at 6 p.m.
n The Fort Knox Eagles’ swim team competed in a Region 3 regional meet Saturday that was dominated by Elizabethtown High School.
Fort Knox High School senior Juan Acevado was the only non-Elizabethtown swimmer to win a swim event at region.
Juan won the 50-yard free and 100-yard fly, and is seeded 18th and 31st at state.
He’ll be joined by senior teammate Christian Acevado and juniors Jarrod Reiter and Noah Kopp. Christian was second in the 100-yard fly, Reiter was second in the 50-yard free and Noah, with two top-five finishes, helped Fort Knox qualify for state in the 200-yard medley relay and 400-yard freestyle relay.
