Representatives from various Army agencies met at Fort Knox last month to conduct a rehearsal of concept for each agency’s role in the Veterans Opportunity to Work Hire Heroes Act signed into law last November. The group met at headquarters for the U.S. Army Human Resources Command. During the rehearsal, each agency reviewed its steps in support of VOW implementation.

Col. Bruce Jenkins, the Fort Knox Garrison Commander, addressed questions about the installation from HRC personnel during an HRC town hall meeting hosted by Maj. Gen. Rick Mustion, Commanding General, U.S. Army Human Resources Command Nov. 21 at Haszard Auditorium. Jenkins addressed an initiative that is on-going to review additional entry and exit points on Fort Knox that could be utilized for contingencies (such as the recent closure of Highway 31 near West Point). Jenkins stated the review is being conducted to search for safe alternatives. This is the second town hall meeting Mustion has hosted since taking command of HRC in August.

Brig. Gen. Kristin French, Commander of the Joint Sustainment Command – Afghanistan and the 3d Sustainment Command (Expeditionary), briefed the Service Fours during their visit to Kandahar Airfield, Afghanistan Nov. 15. French accompanied the Service Fours to several facilities conducting retrograde operations during their visit.
