THE FORT KNOX HIGH SCHOOL VOLLEYBALL TEAM PULLED OFF ITS first postseason win since 2010 Monday night, defeating the John Hardin Bulldogs 3-2 (25-23, 16-25, 21-25, 25-19, 15-12) in the opening round of the 17th District Tournament. The Eagles ended its season with a 3-0 loss to the Elizabethtown Panthers a night later, as Fort Knox wrapped up 2014 having doubled its win total from the previous season, including wins over Caverna and Valley. Juniors Megan Thomas and Yuri Maisel were named to the All-District tournament team after the match.

Resiliency is a common word used to describe athletic contests but the Fort Knox High School volleyball team lived up to the word’s true meaning Monday night. The Eagles defeated the John Hardin Bulldogs 3-2 in the opening round of the 17th District Tournament, rallying from behind to grab the program’s first postseason win since 2010.
