Range Control reschedules safety classes
Range safety classes will not be given tomorrow (due to Thanks-giving), Tuesday or Dec. 5 (due to scheduling conflicts). The next scheduled class will be Dec. 10.
Post tree lighting Dec. 5 at post gazebo
The Christmas Tree lighting ceremony will be Dec. 5 at 5:30 p.m. at the post gazebo near Brooks Field, featuring the 113th Army Band, community groups, caroling and more. Trees for Troops will follow the ceremony.

American Red Cross
The American Red Cross service center on Fort Knox has a new and growing holiday assistance program, the second annual Candy Cane Lane, which runs Monday to Dec. 14. Fort Knox ARC falls under the Louisville Area Chapter.
Candy Cane Lane allows military children in need to shop for holiday gifts for their siblings and parents.
Families must submit applications through Santa’s Workshop (another Red Cross holiday assistance program) or call the Fort Knox Red Cross office. Although the original application deadline was Nov. 1, eligible Families will not be turned away but must apply at the office at 1131 Fifth Ave. or call (502) 624-2163 from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
Stay tuned in the event of severe weather
During the winter season, the garrison commander (in coordination with the commanding general and Fort Knox Community Schools superintendent) may direct the following:
* A delay in reporting or early release from work/duty/schools
* Closure of the post/schools
In the event of such a delay, early release, or closure, weather essential personnel must report to or remain at their place of duty as directed by their supervisor.
