Fort Knox welcomes new commander, Brig. Gen. Combs

Maj. Gen. Jeff Smith, commanding general of U.S. Army Cadet Command and Fort Knox, will relinquish command to Brig. Gen. Peggy Combs during a change of command ceremony at Waybur Theater today at 10 a.m.
Combs will be the first female commanding general of Fort Knox in the installations 96-year history. No stranger to Knox Combs was deputy commander of Cadet Command from 2011-2012.
The public is invited to attend.

Parking lot, street closed for ceremony
Because the change of command ceremony (see above) has been moved to Waybur Theater, the parking lot adjacent to the theater will be closed for VIP parking. In addition, the portion of Old Ironsides Avenue in the vicinity of the theater will be blocked off.
