Temporary change to installation access procedures in effect today

Starting today through May 23, contractors will be at Fort Knox to update the Automated Installa-tion Entry system. During this time, pedestals will not be operational due to contractors working on them at Chaffee, Wilson and Brandenburg gates.

As a result, officials are reminding all personnel to present either required DOD ID cards or an AIE passes to the security guard at one of the access control points. For more detailed information, see the Knox Note on page A8.

Asian American, Pacific Islander Heritage observance planned

Fort Knox’s annual Asian American and Pacific Islander Heritage Month Observance will take place May 24 from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.

in the Saber & Quill’s Signature Room. The event will feature a flute solo from Fort Knox High School student Katherine Chung as well as special dance performances by Hawaiian Hulu of Kentucky and food samplings at the conclusion of the program. The event is free and open to the general public.

Cadet Command, Fort Knox change of command scheduled for May 11

The U.S. Army Cadet Command and Fort Knox Change of Command Ceremony will take place at 10 a.m. May 11 in front of the Cadet Command headquarters building at Fort Knox. During the ceremony, Maj. Gen. Christopher Hughes will transfer command of U.S. Army Cadet Command and Fort Knox to Brig. Gen. John Evans, Jr. The greater Fort Knox community is welcomed and encouraged to attend. In the event of inclement weather, the change of command will be held in Waybur Theater.
