Cadet Command, Fort Knox change of command scheduled for May 11

The U.S. Army Cadet Command and Fort Knox Change of Command Ceremony will take place at 10 a.m. Friday in front of the Cadet Command headquarters building at Fort Knox. Maj. Gen. Christopher Hughes will transfer command to Brig. Gen. John Evans, Jr. The greater Fort Knox community is welcomed and encouraged to attend. In the event of inclement weather, the change of command will be held in Waybur Theater.

Fort Knox cemeteries open for visitation May 28

The installation’s 121 cemeteries on Fort Knox will be open to the families and friends of those buried on post May 28. Access to the cemeteries will be made available from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m., and Fort Knox Range Operations and Cultural Resources staff will be posted at seven checkpoints around the installation to help those seeking specific gravesites. Those needing to locate checkpoints may call (502) 624-2125 or visit the Fort Knox Visitor Center at the Chaffee (main) Gate for assistance. For more information, see Knox Notes on page A8.
