Derby Dinner Play-house will present the brand new musical comedy “Rise Up, O Men,” which runs through Sept. 30.

Men in the parish basement? What’s a church lady to do? “Rise Up, O Men” gives the gents a chance to shine in the latest installment of the “Church Base-ment Ladies” musical comedy series.

Fans of this series will finally get to know more about the men of East Cornucopia Lutheran Church as they join the ladies
in their preparations
for the 1964 Centennial Celebration. The play
is a side-splitting, uplifting peek into the lives of the rural Norwegian Lutherans, whom audiences
have grown to love.

It was inspired by the books of Janet Martin and Suzann Nelson, including the best seller “Growing Up Lutheran.”

The musical was written by Greta Grosch with Music and Lyrics by Dennis Curley. This production is under the direction of Barbara Cullen with musical direction by Scott Bradley. The cast will include Cary Wiger, Rita Thomas, Colette Delaney Mattingly, Tina Jo Wallace, Brian Bowman and J.R. Stuart. n
