Eight Fort Knox High School students from the Street Law class participated Sept. 13 in a field trip to the Louisville Metro Corrections Department and Hall of Justice.

Before touring the jail, the students participated in an interactive, informative lecture with Assistant Director Steve Durham.

After the jail tour, the students visited the Hall of Justice and were given a tour of the Louis D. Brandeis Courthouse by Steven Rush, chief deputy at the Office of the Circuit Court Clerk, who showed them the various sections of the courthouse and escorted the group into the chambers of Judge Erica Lee Williams.

After giving the students a short biography about her journey to- ward becoming a judge, Williams invited them to ask questions. The Fort Knox High School Street Law teacher, Jennifer Washington, and the students praised both the Louisville Metro Corrections Department and the Hall of Justice staff for taking time out of their busy schedules to enlighten them on daily functions inside the corrections facility and the courthouse. n
