Knox Hills, a Lend Lease privatized military housing community located on Fort Knox, announced Feb. 26 that seven of its neighborhoods have been made available to rent to all branches of the military, including active duty and Reserve, Department of Defense employees, military and federal civil service retirees and DoD contract employees. These homes take advantage of the many benefits and amenities that come with living on post.
Knox Hills residents receive all-inclusive rent which covers a variety of expenses including basic utilities, professional lawn mowing services, trash and recycle pick-up and 24/7 maintenance services. Homes are nestled within pet-friendly communities that offer walking and nature trails, play areas for children and three community centers.
“Safety is a big concern for my family and me,” said Dr. Gregg Mowen, principal of Fort Knox High School. “Living on post puts you in the middle of the most secure gated community in America! There are no worries about safety for you or your family. I also love how quickly problems get resolved with your home. Maintenance is quick and easy.”
A newly renovated exchange and commissary, a PGA-rated golf course, indoor swimming pool, splash park, bowling alley, fitness centers and a variety of shops and restaurants are just a few of the amenities offered. Department of Defense Education Activity schools for kingergarten-12th grade are also available to children of active military personnel and full-time DoD employees.
“We have three gyms within walking distance, two indoor pools for year around swimming, miles of hiking and biking trails, and a complete library to use when we wish. No other place can offer so much,” said Mowen.
As of Feb. 5, Knox Hills has had 44 new residents take advantage of this offer. To learn more about this new program and homes currently available at Knox Hills, contact the leasing office today at (502) 799-6550 or visit their website www.knoxhills.com.
