New York Times bestselling author Jim DeFelice visits Barr Memorial Library June 4 to autograph copies of new book and meet Fort Knox fans

New York Times bestselling author Jim DeFelice will discuss and sign West Like Lightning, an entertaining and enlightening history of the legendary Pony Express. DeFelice is the co-author of the #1 New York Times bestseller American Sniper and bestsellers American Wife and Code Name: Johnny Walker.

It was the most audacious get-rich quick scheme in American history, an attempt to monopolize freight, transportation and financial services through half the country. It involved — among other things — swindles, bribes, hostile Indians, religious fanatics and 1,500 miles of desert. It was the Pony Express.

DeFelice celebrates the Pony Express legends, all the while separating fact from fiction. Using both historical data and neglected records, the author dispels some myths but ultimately celebrates the Pony Express’s true achievements.

DeFelice is also the author of Omar Bradley: General at War. He writes acclaimed military thrillers, including the Rogue Warrior series from Richard Marcinko, founder of SEAL Team 6, and the novels in the Dreamland series with Dale Brown.

Copies of his latest novel and other titles will be available for sale at the event. For further information, call Barr at (502) 624-1232.
