Sister George Mary Hagan, who served 19 years as director of religious education at Fort Knox, is celebrating her 60th jubilee as an Ursuline Sister of Mount Saint Joseph. She is one of seven Ursuline Sisters celebrating anniversaries in religious life in 2016.

A native of New Haven, Sister George Mary served at Fort Knox from 1984 to September 2003. At her retirement, she received the Civilian Service Medal for Superior Service.

Before her ministry at Fort Knox, Sister George Mary taught in the Archdiocese of Louisville and the Diocese of Owensboro. She currently ministers in numerous internal ministries at the Motherhouse in Maple Mount, including transportation for the sisters.
