Ireland Army Community Hospital Commander

Dear Beneficiaries,

As the commander of Ireland Army Community Hospital, it is my responsibility to inform you that due to the recent U.S. Army Medical Department Enrollment Policy 13-065, if you live within 30 minutes’ drive of our military treatment facility you and your Family are directed back to Ireland for all of your health care needs.

In an effort to comply with the policy, beneficiaries within the 30 minute recapture zone enrolled in Tricare Prime with providers in the network will receive a letter directing this change

of enrollment, which will become effective April 1.

If you are going to be affected by this change and think you may qualify for a medical exemption, please contact our military treatment facility staff no later than Feb. 28.

Our talented team of highly-qualified medical providers at Ire-land Army Community Hospital embraces a Patient-Centered Medical Home model that facilitates a successful partnership between patients and members of their health care team.

When it comes to our military Family’s health and wellness, having options is very important today.

Army medicine is on the cutting edge of medical innovation, research and trauma care and operates as the fifth largest health care system in the world.

At Ireland Army Community Hospital, you will have complete assurance of our commitment to providing you and your Family the very best health care now and in the future.

In addition to receiving world-class health care, there are no costs associated with your visits to Ireland Army Community Hospital, although the annual Tricare Prime enrollment fee for retirees and retiree Family members still applies.

If you have questions, please contact our beneficiary counselors and assistance coordinators at (502) 624-9187 or 9188.

We look forward to taking care of your health care needs in the future.
