  • Can jailed retiree still receive pension?

    According to the Social Security Administration I have 38 credits, and 40 credits are required in order to receive Social Security benefits.

    I was not able to secure any employment in the last year so I could get the two additional credits.

    I want to know if I can pay in the two credits so I can receive reduced Social Security benefits. (Most countries have this option.) Do you have any suggestions?


    DA Contracting, Expeditionary, relocating HQs to Redstone

    Department of Defense

    The Army announced Jan. 7 the decision to relocate Headquarters, Army Contracting Command and Headquarters, Expeditionary Contracting Command from Fort Belvoir, Va., to Redstone Arsenal, Ala.

    These force structure actions will result in the reassignment of 79 Soldiers and 234 civilians to Redstone Arsenal. The move is expected to be completed in August 2011.

    The 2009 Army Capstone Concept, last updated in 2005, is now available in its final version online.

    Led by Brig. Gen. H.R. McMaster, the director of the Army Capabilities Integration Center’s Concepts Development and Experimentation Directorate, the Capstone Concept discusses the conditions of today’s battlefield and how the Army will address them.

    “The Capstone Concept aims to define the problem of future armed conflict and describes how the Army will function in the future,” said McMaster.

    Other categories of personnel who are eligible for assistance include non-transitioning military personnel, retirees and their dependent Family members.

    Muhammad Ali turns 68 years old Sunday. To celebrate this occasion, the Muhammad Ali Center in downtown Louisville at Sixth Street and River Road, next to the Galt House invites the community to tour the center’s award-winning exhibits for free and to participate in the day’s activities.

    The center is also expanding its Sunday hours for this festive occasion; doors will open at 10 a.m. and close at 5 p.m.

    Fort Knox’s 233rd Transportation Company supported the installation’s range control with the movement of nearly 30 tanks Jan. 5-8 from the Ground Maintenance Division to several ranges on post.

    The movement of tanks served as a means of improving Fort Knox’s ranges, as well as giving 233rd Soldiers experience with transporting various types of equipment.
