Fort Knox Youth Sports will be hosting a preseason basketball camp from Monday-Nov. 3. Camp days/times are Monday, Wednesday through Friday from 6-8 p.m. at Sadowski Center. Cost will be $30.

Participants will focus on defense, ball handling, rebounding and teamwork. All skill levels are welcome.

Coaches wanted

Fort Knox Youth Sports is looking for coaches for its upcoming basketball, cheerleading and volleyball seasons. All head and assistant coaches must attend a National Youth Sports Coaches Association clinic. They must also complete a background check and attend a child abuse and special needs class in order to coach. If an individual is selected to be a head coach, all children participating in the team sports program this season are free. Assistant coaches will receive a 15-percent discount.

FKYS basketball and cheerleading registration extended

Fort Knox Youth Sports has extended its basketball and cheerleading registration through Friday. Registration is done at Fort Knox’s Central Registration office, Bldg. 1384, Vine Street 8 a.m.-4 p.m. The co-ed basketball league is open to all youth ages: 5-6, 7-8, 9-10, 11-12 and 13-15; cheerleading ages 5-6, 7-9, 10-12 and 13-15. Youth must be 5 years old by Nov. 1 in order to participate.

NOTE: All players must be Family members of active duty, retired military or family members of civilian workforce including contractors on Fort Knox. At the time of registration, youth must have a current sports specific physical on file. A Youth Sports scholarship is available for Families that qualify for financial assistance. Participants will receive a 15-percent multiple child discount for each additional youth participating in the same sport.

BeastMode track camp for youth coming

BeastMode coaches presents a program for boys and girls in grades first through 10th grade. The camp begins the week of Jan. 16, 2018 through March 22. Camp days are every Tuesday and Thursday. The first session is from 6-7 p.m. and the second session is from 7:15-8:15 p.m. The camp will be held at Mill Creek Baptist Church, 1182 Jones St. in Radcliff.

The first session is for middle to high school and the second session is elementary school athletes.

The maximum number allowed for each session is 24. The cost is $75 for all athletes, $65 for additional athletes in the household, $50 for staff member’s athlete and any additional athletes in the household, $40 for coach athlete4s and $10 for any additional athletes in the household.

BeastMode intermediate course offered for adults

BeastMode is also offering an intermediate course for adults. The camp is open to 11th-graders to adults. The camp begins the week of Jan. 20, 2018-March 10. The will be held each Saturday. The first session will be held from 8-9:15 a.m. and the second session is from 9:45-11 a.m.

The maximum for each session is 16 on a first come, first served basis. Cost is $50 for all athletes and $40 for coaches (family member). The camp will be held at Mill Creek Baptist Church, 1182 Jones St. in Radcliff.
